Visitor Coupon Booklet

“Research confirms that coupons still heavily influence consumer purchases” (Forbes, 2017).

⭐️ 86% of shoppers try a new product
⭐️ 84% of shoppers choose a particular store

NEW this year, the Chamber is locally-producing a Visitor Coupon Booklet. This booklet will target tourists (from day visitors to short-term vacationers), and provide a beautifully curated storyline of how to spend their time on Gabriola.

The 22-page magazine will provide intentional suggestions for island exploration, designed to highlight participating advertisers, among other experiences on Gabriola.

Our Visitor Coupon Booklet will be promoted to the 4,000 visitors who come through the Gabriola Visitor Center each year and in other key locations. With the stats of 84% of shoppers choosing a particular store based on available coupons, we think this is a valuable opportunity we’re creating for Chamber Members, local businesses, and our island economy. Don’t miss out!

High-quality visitor guide meets high-value coupon booklet…

Unlike purely promotional material, this resource will weave your business or organization organically into an island itinerary through writing and photography.

Each page will also prominently feature a local business or organization with their coupon offer, building awareness of goods or services and driving sales.

This high-value coupon booklet will be a low-cost to visitors at just $6 at the Visitor Centre and participating vendors. The Chamber will sponsor a giveaway of $6 value that feeds our local economy and further incentivizes booklet purchase.

How will coupon use be tracked?

Each offer, designed by our graphic designer, will incorporate a place to mark a coupon as used so that visitors may only enjoy their special offer once.

What is the total cost to participate?

The cost for a coupon space in our booklet is $250 for not-for-profits and $350 for small businesses. When considering your special offer, keep in mind that the coupon could be used up to 1,000 times (print run). The overall intention of this promotion is to drive awareness and increase sales, however you will want to choose a discount that is sustainable for you. We’re happy to help with ideas!

What are some examples of coupons?

Some ideas that might incentivize visitors to spend and save with you are: “Get a free side of fries with any main,” “Choose a free greeting card by a local artist when you spend $25 or more,” “Get 10% off on your first booking with us.”

Do I need to provide any graphics or artwork?

You provide your logo and coupon details and we’ll handle the rest! Consistent design will help us deliver a beautiful visitor guide product that guests want to purchase and keep it simple for local businesses and organizations to participate.

Will the coupons expire?

Yes!  Our hope is to do an annual printing of this booklet, meaning all 2024 coupons would expire at the end of this calendar year.
