Brock Poesiat (he/him) works remotely as a software developer and began volunteering with the Chamber of Commerce as a Board Director in February, 2023.

He graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. At UVic, he was President of the Engineering Students’ Society. He organized large networking and social events and attended conferences around the country on leadership and student advocacy. He was an active member of the university sailing team and competed in regattas around the US and Canada. He also represented UVic at engineering debate competitions.

Since graduating, Brock worked as a software developer in Victoria before being transferred to Oahu, Hawaii, where he lived and worked for a few years. He enjoys exploring new places and surfing. After living abroad, he missed the smiles and steering-wheel waves common to Gabriola. He moved back last summer and has continued working remotely from this beautiful island.

He is excited to connect more with his community.
